Jen Stine

Jen Stine is a founding partner of Paradox Strategies.

Jen is a primary author of the Innovation Quotient ©. Jen has spent over twenty years developing leadership courses and case materials based on cutting-edge research and is certified as a team coach.

In her role as a research associate at Harvard Business School, Jen worked closely with Linda among many other Harvard faculty (including Jim Austin, Warren Bennis, Stacey Childress, Allen Grossman, Herminia Ibarra, Susan Moore Johnson, John Kotter, Karen Mapp, Tony Mayo, Nitin Nohria, Bob Peterkin and Bob Schwartz) over a decade to develop and launch innovative cross-disciplinary initiatives, including the Leadership Initiative and the Public Education Leadership Project. Her work focused on helping leaders to bridge the gap between scholarship and practice to achieve successful outcomes. She is the author of dozens of case studies showcasing leadership, culture and organizational change situations. Jen also partnered with Linda to publish the second edition of Linda’s bestselling classic Becoming a Manager.

Prior to founding Paradox, Jen worked primarily as an independent consultant helping to launch innovative ventures and coach leaders. Among many projects, she helped to create the Saroga Nonprofit Leadership Forum and launched a nonprofit practice for The Ariel Group. Jen also directed HR, IT and organization planning and development at Root Capital, a nonprofit social investment fund, during a period of intense international growth when Root doubled in size over a 2-year period. Jen also brought the Team Conversational Norms Diagnostic to the US as the US Managing Director at The Right Conversation. Some of her clients included: Echoing Green Foundation, Grantmakers for Education, University of Michigan, Kellogg Graduate School of Management, and Morgan Stanley Equity Research.

Jen also led wilderness trips for teenagers and spent a year studying (and teaching in) New York City’s public schools.

Jen earned her B.A. at Williams College and an M.S.Ed. from Bank Street College.
